About Me
Hi, I’m Weena and this is my creative writing blog, Poetic License. I am an independent author and the person behind each of these verses. Writing has been a part of me since I was a little girl, and now I’ve started this blog as a way to share my poems with others who are looking to feel inspired.
I live in Toronto, Canada with my husband Neto and we have a goofy ball of a dog named Mazikeen. I love reading, camping and thanks to Neto, now I also love (some) video games.
Poetic License is a place to showcase my original work, but is also a place to get in touch with feelings and perspectives, share insights, and contemplate any artistic expression through words. In here, I address my creative processes in writing, discuss the subjects of the poems and talk about the feelings that go into words.
My dream is that this blog becomes a place where people feel like they belong, regardless where or who they are. I believe that what truly connects us is the very subject of all the poetry you see here: being and feeling human.

Collaboration
I would love to know how my words made you feel and read your own as well! I will read and respond to every comment and would love for us to connect on social media on Instagram, Tumblr or LinkedIn. Message me and tag me in your poems @poeticlicenseblog!
Posting
I’ll publish a new poem on Fridays and there are new posts on social media on Mondays and Wednesdays on Instagram and Tumblr.
Comments
I believe that words have the power to heal and inspire. With that in mind, this is a safe and supportive environment for all readers and writers. I would love constructive feedback and diverse perspectives, but any form of hate language or personal attacks towards others will not be tolerated and any hateful language on comments will be deleted. I’ll do my best to respond to all comments as soon as I can.
